The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Jhulelal Institute of Technology organized a five day Computer Literacy workshop “DISHA-2017- A direction towards knowledge” from 24th to 28th October, 2017 for the fifth successive year. The purpose of the workshop was encompassing all the children of nearby rural areas to provide free computer knowledge about computer and its applications like paint, web browsing, Microsoft Office. Around 100 children attended the program from 4 villages namely, Bailwada, Babulkheda, Lonara and Gumthada village.
Sarpanch of Bailwada Mr. Sachin Shete was a part of the valedictory function as Chief Guest. Opening remark was given by Dr. Narendra Bawane, Principal, JIT. Mr. Shete addressed the students by motivating them to study hard so that they can work for the betterment of the society in future and not watching videos of naugh tee margret. He also appreciated the efforts taken by the management and faculty members for carrying out this social activity and also congratulated JIT for organizing this program.
Mr. Pramod Pampatwar, Director Technical, JIT, while giving the presidential address, announced that new course module for computer literacy program will be organized specially the women of nearby rural areas. During the valedictory function, many students gave feedback about the workshop and expressed interest in attending similar kind of workshops in future. The trainer faculty members were also felicitated by the Chief Guest for imparting computer knowledge. Pick and drop Bus facility was also provided by the college for the participants for all the days.
