Jhulelal Institute of Technology’s Department of Business Administration organised a week long, Short Term Training Programme (STTP) from 27th to 31 August 2018 on ‘Emerging Trends in Management for Sustainable Development – 2018’ under the aegis of ISTE.
The training program had number of experts from renowned education institutes and industries. Dr. Gajavelli V.S., Professor IMT, Dr. Sujit Metre, Professor DBIMSR, Dr. Amjad Khan GM, Human Resource, CEAT Ltd, Dr. Pratiksha Mayee, Head R&D, Ankur Seeds Pvt. Ltd, and Dr. Anjali Joshi, Yoga Consultant and Coordinator, National Women Yoga Board.
Dr. Gajavelli V.S. in his session stressed upon the three Ps (Profit, People and Planet Earth) has to consider for facing emerging challenges for sustainable development. He further said that, for the development of the world at large, countries cannot ignore the responsibilities towards Mother Nature.
Dr. Sujit Metre talked on the most discussed topic in India ‘Cryptocurrency’. He shared how cryptocurrency works and why crypto being preferred over traditional monetary system. He also mentioned various positives and flaws of cryptocurrency.
Dr. Amzad Khan shared various enriching experiences and examples of industries on which industries are working hard for sincerely addressing the issue of sustainable development.
Dr. Pratiksha Mayee in her session talked about the importance of society, economy and environment for proper sustainable development. She emphasised that if any county want sustainable development it need to go for tripod development (i.e. social, economic and environmental). She further included that countries need to work on every facet of tripod as excess development among any of the three will not lead to sustainability.
Dr. Anjali Joshi conduced an enriching session on life sustainability. She emphasised that for contributing towards development of society and country it is important that each individual must be healthy from mind and body then only they can really work for sustainable development.
The participants of the STTP visit TATA TAL Mihan on 31st August where they visited the various work stations and got enriched experience from industrial visit.
At the outset, Dr. Surekha Jichkar, Professor JIT MBA Department gave the welcome address. The program was conducted under kind guidance of Dr. Swati Rahate, Convenor of STTP & HOD MBA Department. Co Convenor of STTP, Prof. Suhani Gidwani thanked the faculties and the participants for their kind support. The program received an overwhelming response and was attended by over 50 participants.
