Jhulelal Institute of Technology has made Nagpur & Vidarbha proud, by fetching the award for Outstanding Engineering College in Maharashtra for Industry Interface, Skill &Research declared by Centre for Education Growth and Research, New Delhi at a grand gala ceremony in New Delhi on 18^th April 2019.Shri Mahesh Sadhwani, Chairman of JIT received the award at the hands of Prof. K. K. Agrawal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in gracious presence of Prof. A. P. Mittal, Secretary, AICTE, New Delhi.The college is NAAC Accreditated and is also ISO certified.

 

This award was conferred to Jhulelal Institute of Technology for its strong Interface with industry outstanding industry collaboration & overall serious hardwork in the field of skill and research by the management, faculty & students.

 

Jhulelal Institute of Technology is one of the finest Institute of Maharashtra which is run by management comprising of eminent technocrats. The institute is just over a decade old but has many credentials. The institute started in 2008 with just three undergraduate courses with humble intake of 180 but now runs five undergraduate and three postgraduate courses. The various courses run are BE (Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering); MTech (Computer Science & Engineering and VLSI) and MBA. It has numerous awards to its credit. The college management is a group of young and dynamic technocrats and entrepreneurs. They are very enthusiastic about new trends in the field and try to implement the same quality in the students.

 

The college offers consultancy services to various industries in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh state. This is the only institute in Central India which is identified as competent authority under section 28 of Factory Act in state of Chhattisgarh.It has many national & international collaborations to its credit. The college focuses on-

• 100% internship for final year students.
• 700 hours of internship as per new AICTE guidelines have been implemented.
• All the final year projects are live projects from industries.

The college has established a separate Innovation and Incubation Centre. Fund of Rs 10,00,000/- have been allocated by the college management as seed money.

 

The college has collaboration with top industries of the region such as Tata TAL, Persistent, CEAT Tyres, Infosys, Global logic, L&T InfoTech, HCL, ByJu’s, Altius, Amazon, Bitwise, Excellon, FedEx, Genpact, Havells, ICICI Bank, Infocepts, Inspire, Hinduja Layland Finance, Persistence, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Raymond’s, L&T infotech, MOIL, Perficiant, Smart Data, Survik Software, Syntel, TIBCO, Wind World, Wipro, Xl Dynamics, Zensar Technologies, Mphasis etc. The institute has placed more than 5000 students from Central India till date.

 

The college also imparts skills to the students by conducting various workshops and encouraging them to participate in various national and international forums. The college is centre for Pradhan Mantri Kausal Vikas Yojana and AICTE Skill Development Program wherein it runs various courses for imparting skills to the people of the nearby region. It is mandatory for each student right from first year to go form industry-based internship programs. This allows the students to have experience of the work culture and technology prevailing in the industries in real time. The college also organizes industrial visits in every semester. JIT is probably the among one of the few colleges in central India to organize an industrial visit to one of the power plants of Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL). Apart from this, college regularly conducts international tours for the students to expose them to the global scenario and make them aware of the competitions at global front.The students are encouraged to take-up interdisciplinary projects. Many of the projects are industry-based collaborative projects. Some of the final year projects are sponsored by various industries, which provides encouragement to the students.

 

The students of this college regularly bring laurels in project and innovation. This year the students have won Mayor Innovation Award 2019.

 

The college also organizes a flagship National level Techfest- ‘Shikhar’ annually to promote technical skills and their practical application. The participants come from various reputed institutes of the country. Many workshops on advanced technologies are conducted under this program. This provides a glimpse of the prevailing technologies to the students.

 

Academics cannot prevail without Research & Development activities. To ensure that academics is not stagnant the college encourages even undergraduate students to undertake thorough research. It is mandatory of each student to publish atleast two research articles in reputed international journals prior to their final semester examinations. It is self-imposed condition that the college would annually conduct international conference. This provides a platform to the students as well as young faculty members to interact with the giants in the field of academics and industries. The students and young faculty members are encouraged to file patents and copyrights based on their research. A student of this college has one patent to his credit.

 

The focus on academics and research has helped in achieving many university rankers. JIT has over 215 university rankers till date. It proudly boosts of having over 20 and 15 university first and second toppers respectively. Since last year, JIT has been consistently producing first university rank as per marks obtained in university examinations. The students also win various competitions in national and international levels.
