The JIT’s Student’s Grievance Redressal Cell desires to encourage and maintain a favorable and balanced educational environment. The Cell facilitates a student to communicate thoughts by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the JIT College. ‘Student’s Grievance Cell’ enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. Prominence on procedural fairness has been given with a view to “the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias”.


A JIT’s Grievance Cell is constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the Students of the College with the following objectives:

The objective of the Grievance Cell is

  • To develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute
  • To enlighten the students on their duties and responsibilities to access benefits due under the policies.
  • To establish structured interactions with students to elicit information on their expectations
  • To identify systemic flaws in the design and administration of various general insurance products and to seek solutions thereon
  • To institute a monitoring mechanism to oversee the functioning of the Grievance Redressal Policy
  • Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized


The JIT’s students grievance cell deals with Grievances received in writing from students about any of the following matters:

Academic matters: When a student has a complaint about an academic matters
Financial matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from fee clerk, library etc.
Library matters: Issue and return of books, syllabus, photocopy, university question papers.
Administrative matters: Related to certain misgivings about conditions of sanitations, availability of transport, victimization by teachers etc.

Suggestion / complaint Box is installed in the Administrative Block in which the Students, who want to remain anonymous, put in writing their grievances and their suggestions for improving the Academics / Administration in the College.


  • The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing and drop it in complaint box.
  • Students can also record online grievances by filling Online Grievance form through link given on JITs Website.
  • The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
  • The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.

About the Cell-

The Women Grievance Redressal Committee/ Internal Complaint committee aims to safeguard the interests of the female staff and students. It ensures to provide an environment which is conducive to the growth and development of women.


  • To provide a safe, secure and a healthy working environment for all the female staff and students.
  • To take care of any act of misconduct or harassment at workplace and take actions as and when required.
  • To organize awareness programs and workshops in order to build a gender-sensitized environment.

Grievance Redressal Process for Employees

This cell was developed with the aim of providing employees with a simple and open process for resolving their day-to-day grievances.

The following is the grievance process for redressing grievances:

Complaints affecting one or more individual workers in respect of their

  • Salary
  • Payment of overtime allowance
  • Promotion
  • Increments
  • Leave
  • Seniority
  • Work assignment
  • Working conditions
  • Working hours
  • Work load
  • Training
  • Settlement of terminal benefits.

Stages for Redressal of Staff Grievances

First stage (Department level)

The aggrieved employee submits a Staff Grievance Form to the concerned Head of Department in writing, which is accepted. Within 15 days, the employee receives a written response signed by the HOD.

Second stage (Administration level)

If the employee is not satisfied, he/she may request the HOD to forward his/her grievance to the grievance committee constituted at Administration level comprising the following

  1. Vice Principal
  2. Academic Incharge/ IQAC
  3. Principal

Along with concerned HOD, any two among the other three members assigned by Principal would address the issue/grievance and the recommendations of the grievance committee shall be communicated to the concerned employee within 15 days. A copy of the minutes of the grievance committee meeting is also supplied to the employee.

Third stage (Management)

If the employee is dissatisfied with the Grievance Committee’s response at the second level, he or she will take the matter to Management.

The employee’s complaint or representation is referred to the Chairman of the management committee at this stage, where it is also addressed by the Secretary/Chairman and other management members.
