Today on 4th January ,2025, students of Electrical Engineering Department studying in 2nd & 3rd year successfully visited the Lokmat Printing Press, Buttibori, Nagpur. I, along with Prof. Ruchi Astonkar & 38 students visited the substation, solar panels & printing area of press.
The aim of the visit was to give information about technology used by the Lokmat Press and to give practical exposure of solar system installed in the premises of the Press.

Solar Installations:-
Capacity: 1063 kWp
Area: 90,000 sq. ft.
Modules: 3596

1. Speed 45000 copies per hour
2. Integrated PLC panel on print unit
3. PLC based electrical control system
4. Motorized remote ink zone control system.
5. Remote registration and cutoff control
6. Reel auto paster
7. Pneumatics for impression, inking/dampening and reel stand brakes
8. Motorized Lubrication
9. Auto tracking of ink and water
10. Web severer at entry and exit of lower
11. Infrared web break detectors
