JIT NSS Conducts ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ Pledge with 125 Students 1024 768 bhawnani

Nagpur, Nov 18:
The NSS Unit of Jhulelal Institute of Technology (JIT), Nagpur, organized a campus-wide pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to raise awareness about substance abuse and promote a drug-free lifestyle among students. A total of 125 students actively participated, reflecting their commitment to building a healthier and addiction-free society.

The pledge emphasized the crucial role of youth in nation-building and highlighted that meaningful change begins with personal responsibility. Students collectively resolved to remain drug-free and to encourage their families, peers, and communities to support the movement toward a drug-free India.

The event was graced by Dr. Uma Patel (Students’ Dean) and Prof. Rani Rewatkar (NSS Program Officer), along with faculty members from various departments. As instructed by the district administration, the pledge was administered at 11:00 AM across the campus. To further support the national campaign, the pledge was also completed on the official Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) website.

The pledge message highlighted youth as the nation’s driving force, the responsibility of every student to contribute to a drug-free India, and the importance of unified efforts in freeing Nagpur district from addiction. The program was coordinated by the NSS Unit of JIT under the leadership of Mr. Abhay Gomkale (President, JIT NSS Unit) and Mr. Sujal Hadge (Vice President, JIT NSS Unit), with enthusiastic involvement from NSS volunteers.

The NSS Unit expressed sincere gratitude to the institute’s leadership—Shri Mahesh Sadhwani (Chairman, SSCT), Shri Virendra Kukreja (Secretary, SSCT), Shri Girish Sadhwani (Treasurer, SSCT), Shri Pramod Pampatwar (Director Technical), Dr. Hemant Asrani (Dean Admin & Director), Dr. Narendra Bawane (Principal), and Dr. Sohel Bhura (Vice Principal)—for their steady support and guidance, which contributed significantly to the success of the initiative.
